One of the smaller countries of Central America, Belize has the Maya mountains in its southwest and a long, low-lying coastline fringing the Caribbean.

June to December is the rainiest time and downpours can be torrential, especially if hurricanes and tropical storms hit town. There is the likelihood of coastal rain at any time of the year.

The weather is very hot and humid all year although, on the coast, the stickiness is often dissipated by strong winds from the Caribbean. The best time to visit is during the drier season which stretches from January to April.
