UK
Spaceships Rentals UK* is a motorhome and campervan hire company that rents vehicles from its two bases in the UK.
Pick up a motorhome or campervan in London* or Edinburgh* and drive to wherever you want, including to other countries in Europe. One way rentals are also possible, but not to continental Europe.
Spaceships Rentals UK has two types of campervan and two types of motorhome for hire, and whichever one you choose, unlimited mileage comes as standard and you can have up to four drivers at no extra cost. You can also hire a Ford Transit Mini Bus 9-seater people carrier.
Campervans
If there are just two of you, why not hire a VW 'Camper Car'. This is a manual Volkswagen Caddy diesel conversion that seats and sleeps two so is ideal for a couple - fully equipped with table and seating for dining, plus a fold-away double bed.
The campervan comes with a gas burner for cooking; cutlery and crockery and an icebox are also included.
A step up from the Camper Car is the small family 'Voyager' package which can sleep four so may be suitable for a small family.
The 'Voyager' is a manual Ford Transit diesel conversion that has two double beds and comes with similar equipment to the VW Camper Car though this one does include a fridge freezer.
Motorhomes
To really be fully self-sufficient on your touring camping holiday you need a motorhome. These come with on-board galley, running hot and cold water, shower room and toilet, and most importantly more headroom.
Luxury motorhomes
The 'Luxury' Motorhome is the smaller of the two motorhomes offered by Spaceships Rentals UK.
Coach-built by Adria in Slovenia on a Fiat Ducato chassis it is seven meters long and just over two meters wide - that's only 1.65 meters longer and a little bit wider than the Ford Transit 'Voyager', but the extra few inches makes a huge difference.
It has two double beds, one in the rear and another that disappears into the ceiling during the day, plus a small single bed that is suitable for a child.
There is a dining area, small galley with gas hob and oven plus a large fridge freezer, and these vehicles even have central heating. TV and DVD player are included and if you are near a supply of electricity you can 'plug in'.
Family motorhomes
The 'Family' Motorhome is the same size on the road as the 'Luxury' Motorhome but is taller which means there is more space for additional beds, increasing the sleeping capacity to seven people. Otherwise the configuration is similar with all the same features as the 'Luxury' Motorhome.
In both the motorhomes there is a massive storage area at the rear which can take all manner of things like surfboards, inflatables, bicycles, even a small canoe, so there are plenty of things you can bring with you. See website for exact dimensions.
Australia and New Zealand
If you are planning a trip 'down under' to either Australia* or New Zealand* there are two Spaceships Rentals companies there offering a range of campervans.
Australia
In Australia there are five depots located in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria:
- Airlie Beach, Queensland
- Brisbane, Queensland
- Cairns, Queensland
- Melbourne, Victoria
- Sydney, New South Wales
New Zealand
While in New Zealand you can rent campervans for both the North and South Islands:
- Auckland, North Island
- Christchurch, South Island
The choice of vehicles is more limited than in Europe with only campervans on offer. All these campervans are based on the Toyota Estima also known as the Previa or Tarago and are suitable for two to four people.
As with Spaceships rentals UK all Spaceships rentals in Australia and New Zealand come with unlimited mileage and 24 hour roadside assistance.
