About Thorpe Park
Thorpe Park Resort is for the thrill-seekers, the adventurous and the fun-loving. Known as "An island like no other" thanks to its lake-based location, it attracts visitors from all over the world with its collection of more than 30 exhilarating rides, attractions and events.
Although it's home to the UK's fastest rollercoaster, the infamous 'Stealth', there's something for all ages, not to mention bravery levels, at Thorpe Park, which ensures it's super family-friendly. There's also a wide variety of restaurants and cafés* to satisfy any appetite.
What's more, you can even stay overnight at the park in one of the quirky, nautical-themed Thorpe Shark Cabins*.
Getting there: the easiest way to get to Thorpe Park Resort* in Surrey is either by driving (exit the M25 at junctions 11 or 13) or by the 950 Thorpe Park Express bus from Staines railway station.
If driving, be sure to book parking in advance* to save money and secure your spot.
Top rides & attractions
The island playground of Thorpe Park has more than 30 rides* with everything from the fast-paced, hi-octane and record-breaking to the more gentle and laid back for little ones. Below, you can find out about five of our favourite tried-and-tested rides that are guaranteed to set your pulse racing.
1. Stealth
The park's most famous ride, Stealth holds the title of the UK's fastest rollercoaster, boasting speeds up to 80mph. Your ride on Stealth will be the most adrenaline-filled two seconds of your life as you shoot from 0 to 80mph, 205ft into the sky.
2. SAW - The Ride
Inspired by the horror films of the SAW franchise, SAW - The Ride takes you on a journey. Queue in a maze of detached plastics limbs and torsos before entering the dark, eerie beginning of the ride, where 'Jigsaw' is always watching you. The ride is full of surprises (and scares) including a 100ft vertical drop.
3. Colossus
One of Thorpe Park's most popular rides, but not one for the easily dizzy, Colossus spins its riders around multiple different turns and spirals. Feel your stomach lurch as you corkscrew and flip upside down on the world's first ten-loop coaster.
4. Tidal Wave
Thorpe Park wouldn't be an island resort without a water ride. Combining water-drenching fun with a thrilling adventure, Tidal Wave promises an exciting 85ft-drop ending in a huge wave of water, which ensures no one leaves dry.
5. The Walking Dead: The Ride
Have you ever wondered whether you'd survive a zombie attack? If so, The Walking Dead: The Ride is for you. Bringing the famous TV show to life, riders experience drops into pitch black, jump scares and the chance to try your luck at outrunning scary zombies.
Thorpe Park for young children
Thorpe Park isn't just for adrenaline-loving teenagers and adults. Fun for the whole family, it is full of attractions for younger children too.
[Flying Fish is the perfect rollercoaster to get younger children hooked on the thrill while, for those who don't fancy fast-paced heights, the Angry Birds 4D experience offers a different sort of entertainment.
Alternatively, for much younger visitors, go on a closer-to-ground adventure in the playground or in the shallows of Amity Beach.
