Why fly with Virgin Australia?
Virgin Australia can be counted on to get you between all the major Aussie hubs, and around the world, in comfort and style; as the second largest airline in Australia after Qantas, booking your flight with the trusted Virgin brand gives you complete peace of mind on your journey down under.
Winner of many prestigious Skytrax travel awards in 2017, including Australia and the Pacific's best staff and best airline, Virgin Australia was ranked 13th in the Top 100 Airlines list, making it the number one rated Australian airline worldwide. Around the same size as the mainland USA, Australia's vast geographical scale means that visitors and locals count on domestic air travel as the most accessible way of travelling the long distances between cities such as Sydney and Melbourne to Western Australia's capital, Perth.
The main international routes include flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Los Angeles, as well as between Abu Dhabi and Sydney. With a fleet of 130 aircraft, including some of the best passenger aircrafts in operation from Boeing and Airbus, Virgin Australia offers travellers in the region convenience and comprehensive choice.
Velocity Frequent Flyer program
Virgin Australia's frequent flyer programme is free to join and recently won awards for its great customer service and flexible redemption plans; Velocity points are valid on Virgin Australia flights and upgrades.
The higher Silver, Gold and Platinum levels can be achieved not only by purchasing flights with Virgin Australia and partner airlines, but also by buying goods and services from selected retailers. Virgin Australia will even let you collect points when your pet travels with you.
Both Silver and Gold status give travellers an additional 23 kg baggage allowance with all economy fares, while Platinum Velocity members gain an additional 32 kg checked bag allowance whenever they travel in any fare class.
