Denmark weather overview

In Denmark expect warm but rainy summers, chilly winters and mild, wet autumns and springs. The waters of the Baltic can freeze for long periods. Such freezes are not an annual occurrence but, when they do happen, they are accompanied by snow which can lie for as long as a month. February tends to be the coldest time of the year.

The climate varies little throughout Denmark although the west coast is rather more prone to rain than the east. The west can also fall prey to strong gales from the Atlantic, so take windproof clothing if visiting this region in winter.
