Things to do in Gran Canaria in November 2024

The family friendly WOMAD Las Palmas lights up the capital's Parque Santa Catalina in early November. There are arts and crafts workshops and performances from some of the biggest names in world music. Unlike other WOMAD festivals, including the original UK one, the Gran Canaria version is free.

Want to know the best way to truly discover the island? On foot. The Gran Canaria Walking Festival arranges hikes of varying levels led by expert guides including a nocturnal one to take advantage of the low light pollution on the island which ensures a clear night sky for stargazing thrown in.

Two of the biggest events on the sailing calendar start from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in November. First, the ARC+ travels from the capital to St Lucia's Rodney Bay via Mindelo in Cape Verde (11th November 2018). Then, the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers leaves for St Lucia from El Muelle Deportivo (25th November 2018).
