Tajikistan weather overview
More than half of Tajikistan covers altitudes in excess of 3,000m (10,000 ft), but it attracts only moderate rainfall as it lies far from the sea, and is afforded partial protection by the Himalayas to the southeast and the Pamir Mountains to the south.
Its southwest enjoys very hot, dry summers but, in winter, there is a wind chill factor from hell which sends temperatures plummeting and makes life unpleasant.
What to pack for Tajikistan weather
Light clothes are fine for summer in the southwest; add warmer wear if travelling to higher ground. Wrap up very warm for the Tajikistan winter.
